Social media platforms are powerful for building professional connections and showcasing your work. This two-day course shows you how to use LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and X effectively and safely to grow your network.

You’ll update and optimise your profiles, practise creating posts and stories, and learn how to join relevant groups and conversations. The course also covers wellbeing and privacy, helping you use social media positively without it becoming overwhelming.

By the end, you’ll leave with new or refreshed profiles, example posts, and a clear plan for maintaining your presence online.

Requirements

This course is fully funded for Hackney residents with UK/EU citizenship who were aged 19 or over on 31 August 2025, and who have the right to live and study in the UK. A Hackney address is required.

The workshop runs over 2 days (one day a week for 2 weeks). A £20 refundable deposit is required to secure your place. The deposit is returned on completion of the course. Learners must attend both sessions and complete enrolment and GLA funding paperwork.

Booking

Places are booked on a first come first served basis. We are operating a stand by / waiting list in case courses are fully booked. You will need to have at least basic PC or Mac skills. If English is not your first language you should have a good level of English in order to participate.
