Overview

PowerPoint is widely used to present ideas. This two-day course teaches you how to design clear slides and deliver presentations with confidence. You’ll learn how to structure content, apply themes and use visuals effectively.

You’ll also explore multimedia features such as adding images, video and audio, plus interactive options like hyperlinks. The course covers transitions and animations, with guidance on using them appropriately.

By the end you’ll have created and delivered a short presentation to the group, gaining practical skills for work, study or community projects.

Requirements

This course is fully funded for Hackney residents with UK/EU citizenship who were aged 19 or over on 31 August 2025, and who have the right to live and study in the UK. A Hackney address is required.

The workshop runs over 2 days (one day a week for 2 weeks). A £20 refundable deposit is required to secure your place. The deposit is returned on completion of the course. Learners must attend both sessions and complete enrolment and GLA funding paperwork.

Booking

Places are booked on a first come first served basis. We are operating a stand by / waiting list in case courses are fully booked. No prior knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint is required: only basic PC or Mac skills. If English is not your first language you should have a good level of English in order to participate.
