Overview

Coding is built on logic, the step-by-step instructions that tell a computer what to do. This two-week evening course introduces the essential concepts behind programming and provides the foundation for future coding studies. It is ideal for beginners who are curious about how coding works and want a structured, supportive start.

You will explore the basic building blocks of programming, such as algorithms, sequences, loops, conditionals and variables. The course also introduces Python as a practical way to apply these concepts, with guided exercises that build up to creating a simple coded app. Alongside coding, you will learn debugging techniques, problem-solving strategies, and how to break down complex tasks into smaller, manageable steps.

By the end of the course, you will understand how logic underpins all programming languages, be able to use functions effectively, and feel confident experimenting with small projects. This is an excellent starting point for learners who want to continue into Python, JavaScript, or more advanced coding courses.
