Overview

This course explores how digital tools can be used for creativity and communication. Over two days you’ll experiment with beginner-friendly apps such as Canva, Figma, Adobe Express and simple website builders. You’ll learn principles of design, safe image sourcing, and how to present ideas online.

The emphasis is on confidence-building, with plenty of guided practice and short projects. By the end, you’ll have created a small digital piece such as a flyer, simple webpage or story, and gained a clearer understanding of how digital design fits together.

Requirements

This course is fully funded for Hackney residents with UK/EU citizenship who were aged 19 or over on 31 August 2025, and who have the right to live and study in the UK. A Hackney address is required.

The workshop runs over 2 days (one day a week for 2 weeks). A £20 refundable deposit is required to secure your place. The deposit is returned on completion of the course. Learners must attend both sessions and complete enrolment and GLA funding paperwork.

Booking

Places are booked on a first come first served basis. We are operating a stand by / waiting list in case courses are fully booked. No prior knowledge of Canva, Figma, Adobe Express is required: only basic PC or Mac skills. If English is not your first language you should have a good level of English in order to participate.
